Cohoes Ronald J. St Gelais, - Ronald J. "Satch" St Gelais, 75, of Breslin Ave passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Emile V. and Anna "Stasia" Cunningham St Gelais and beloved husband of Charlotte A. Gula St Gelais of Cohoes.

Satch was a lifelong resident of Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School, class of 1960. He was employed as a forklift operator with Mohawk Paper Mill in Cohoes retiring after 33 years of service. Satch was an avid NY Giants and Yankee fan. His contagious enthusiasm and genuine joy for life were generously shared with Charlotte, the love of his life and with their cherished parrot, Suey. Satch was a really great guy, an authentic gentleman. He was popular with, and admired by everyone fortunate enough to have know him. He was a lifetime member of the PAA in Cohoes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Marc (Ivette) St Gelais, of Florida, daughters, Kimberly (Frank Smith) LaCross of Scotia and Melissa A. (Bill) Smith of Cohoes, brother Joseph St Gelais of Schenectady, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank St Gelais.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd 105 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes on Monday July 9, from 4-6:30.

There will be a reflection of Satch’s life in the funeral home following calling hours on July 9. Please share your favorite memories and fun times.
