Troy Robert J. Campana, - Robert Joseph Campana died the early morning hours of May 19th surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born in Troy, NY on January 18, 1936 to Joseph and Edna (Pfaffenbach) Campana.

Bob attended the Annex schools then went to Troy High where he graduated in 1955. Upon graduation he went to work as a painter in the Union. In 1957, Bob took the New York State Trooper test and became a State Trooper in 1958. He would be stationed in Malone, NY, Governor Rockefeller’s office and finally Brunswick, NY.

In the summer of 1958 he was drafted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Fort Dix and Williamsburg, VA for two years. After serving his tour of duty he went back to the State Police.

In September of 1961 he married Tessie Guba and would celebrate over 50 years of marriage.

Bob would remain with the New York State Troopers until retiring in January of 1980, all while going to Hudson Valley Community College for a degree in Criminal Justice.

Upon retirement from the State Troopers, Bob and Terry would work together at Copeland – Campana Travel Agency and Campana- Santoro Travel the business they would own together until 1985. He would then work for Sears for another 20 years where he finally retired.

Bob was a member of the Troy Country Club, The Troy Club, The Brunswick Elks, The Troy Kiwanis and the Troy Masonic Lodge.

Bob or Campie as he was known to his friends, loved traveling with his wife and high school friends, the Ives, the Burkes and the Longs, as well as the friends they made along the way, the Corcorans and the Kepners. He also spent a lot of time in Greenwood Lake, NY visiting the Ritter family and spending the past several years visiting New Hampshire to see Jody Scamman.

On the home front he could be found helping St. Nicholas Orthodox Church with their flea market and Equinox during the holidays or going out to dinner with Kathy Peer. Most of all you would find him playing cards with the guys or playing golf with friends or perhaps hanging out with the Harbingers and Sieks enjoying a nice dry martini with olives.

Bob was predeceased by his wife Terry (2013). He leaves behind his son Joseph (Erin) Campana of Clifton Park and his daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Dion of Seymour, CT. as well as his beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Curtis and Kylie.
